Ochiai employs an integrated production system that enables everything to be performed and resolved in-house, from hearings with customers to product design, prototype and die manufacture, mass production, packaging and follow-ups after delivery. The effects of this system can be seen in every aspect of our services including our prices, quality, speed and stable procurement. The in-house integrated production system is one of Ochiai's strengths and it also a promise to our customers that we are fully responsible for every process.

Sales
Proposals can be accurately and quickly provided to our customers based on hearings to determine their issues and required performance. We strive to establish a good relationship with our customers and develop new products that match their needs. By effectively utilizing our overseas hubs, we are also able to provide overseas manufacturers and distributors, as well as Japanese manufacturers with overseas production hubs, with our products as well as rapid after sales service.
Product design
By engaging in practical product design from the very start that anticipates mass production, we are able to recreate a testing environment that is almost identical to actual mass production sites. The designers create and test prototypes themselves, which enables them to accurately reflect the intent of the design, as well as quickly responding to feedback from testing results. This has resulted in reduced development times and increased precision in regards to required specifications and performance.
Product Engineering
Die design and manufacture
At Ochiai, almost all dies are designed and manufactured in-house. Our strengths lie in years of experience and accumulated data, as well as highly precise die manufacturing through the processing techniques of seasoned professionals, and we use this to reduce costs through details that include even the consideration of yields using that die. Dies are manufactured not only in our domestic plants, but at our overseas plants as well, enabling us to quickly provide dies to site where they are needed.
Stamping
Ochiai has available 230 large and small press machines to enable processing that matches any variety of conditions including size and production lot size. We use different machines from the variety available for different requirements such as the multi-warming press, which offers flexible processing and the creating of products in a variety of shapes without wasting materials, as well as machines built in-house that lead to increased production efficiency and labor-saving. /dd>
Heat treatment
Austemper treatment that provides a product with the characteristics of a spring. such as toughness and impact resistance, outstanding stretchability and minimal distortion, is a technology that is one of Ochiai's strengths. As a testament to compliance with the strict quality control standards of our customers, we have been designated as a designated factory for Heat treatment. In addition, we are able effectively treat products of a wide variety of sizes through the use of our large scale net basket-type furnace.
Barrel treatment
We perform the removal of burrs and surface polishing, such as glossy finishes, to match the requirements of the product. The product, polishing stones (media), compounds and water is injected into the barrel (polishing barrel) in set proportions. The friction caused by applying movement such as rotation and vibration results in an even finish as well as the achievement of multiple objectives. We are also able to achieve surface polishing that meets various needs, such as shot blasting that polishes the surfaces by firing the media at the surface.
Surface treatment
Ochiai performs phosphate surface film processing, which creates a film on the surface to give it corrosion resistance properties. Because this process utilizes a chemical reaction of the surface material itself and not a coating with a coating agent, the is practically no change in the dimensions of the product. The wastewater generated from surface treatment is treated at our own wastewater treatment facility, thereby reducing our burden on the environment.
Final inspection
By utilizing a wide variety of inspection devices, we conduct strict inspection to make sure that our products meet the quality requirements of our customers. We pursue achieving both quality and reasonable costs through the introduction of the latest inspection equipment such as automatic image measuring equipment, as well as more efficient inspections through measurement systems that utilize programs. We have also established a traceability system that not only conducts Final inspection but also keeps inspection records for each process.

In order for customers to automatically mount a set volume of parts on their assembly line, we are able to accommodate stack packaging that aligns and packages a certain number of products, thereby contributing to increased efficiency for our customers. In addition, through our barcode system that is deployed not only for boxes but for each smaller bag inside, we engage in detailed and precise shipping management.

Production technology

By actively engaging in in-house creation of production equipment and the creation of machinery that matches our production state, we are advancing with labor-saving, cost reduction and energy reduction. In regards to commercially acquired machinery, we apply our own enhancements and adjustments to make them even more easier to use to further improve efficiency. Furthermore, voluntary inspections and maintenance is performed on a regular basis and replacement parts are manufactured in-house when possible. Through these efforts on site, we are able to achieve high performance at low costs.
We also offer support for improvement activities for various production processes.

Production management

  • In order to utilize the strength of our in-house integrated production system, we monitor order sources and order volumes and have established a management system to produce the required product in only the required amount in the shortest amount of time possible. Based on recent data, sales and production management managers communicate with each other and oversee the entire production process to create and achieve production plans that have no waste and no backlogs.
